Is the Kia Soul Front-Wheel Drive Your Only Option?

Although there is no Kia Soul AWD, the Soul is available as a Front-Wheel-Drive (FWD). Shelby drivers will have the ability to customize their powertrain and drivetrain for this compact SUV:

  • The Kia Soul trim levels typically include a 2.0-liter In-line 4-cylinder engine, producing 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque. You can upgrade your Soul GT Line Turbo trim for a 1.6-liter turbocharged In-line 4-cylinder engine, which generates up to 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque.
  • The Soul LX is the baseline Kia Soul that comes equipped with a Manual Transmission or an Intelligent Variable Transmission. The IVT is standard on most of the other models and offers better fuel economy. However, many Lexington drivers prefer the M/T for more pleasurable drives. Upgrade to the GT Line Turbo for a 7-Speed Dual-Clutch transmission that combines the best of both worlds!

Kia Soul Safety Features

The reason why drivers choose AWD vehicles is due to the safety features. Although the Soul is available as an FWD vehicle only, the model does offer an array of appealing safety features:

  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  • Vehicle Stability Management (VSM)
  • Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC)
  • Tire-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
  • Electronic Brake-Force Distribution (EBD)
